We have significant experience in renewables projects, and were part of the construction team for the UK’s biggest solar farm. 

 

Llanwern Solar Farm

 

Llanwern is a 75MW site spread over 300 acres, split into 3 fields. Hilights were awarded the cable installation project on 2 of the 3 fields by the Principal contractor Bouygues Energies & Services UK.

 

Installing over 45,000m of DC cable and 8,000m of RS485 throughout both sites. 

 

Tasked with putting in the MV between each inverter station, and also between each field, some of the installations measured over 1200m long. But with our experienced and knowledgeable crew, and the right equipment for the job, Hilights were able to ensure that the cable completed by the client’s set  deadlines. 

 

Working with Bouygues, Highlights have gained valuable real world experience on major renewables projects including Strensham Solar Farm, and Cambridge Solar Farm.
